The UW Reality Lab is expanding and renaming its \u201cCV\/ML Graduate School Prep Workshop<\/em>\u201d to include more students, more labs, more time, and more resources. The new name will be “CSNext: Graduate School Prep Workshop<\/a><\/strong><\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n

The workshop began in 2021 and was designed to encourage and assist undergraduates \u2013 particularly those from groups historically marginalized or underrepresented in STEM – to continue on to graduate school in computer science. Participants gathered online for an intensive, 2-day workshop, designed by John Akers (UW Reality Lab<\/em>) with the help of Leslie Sessoms and Elise Dorough (UW CSE Graduate Student Services<\/a><\/em>). They heard a talk on Deep Learning, presentations on current vision\/graphics research and on the graduate school application process, panel discussions with current UW CSE grad students from varying backgrounds, and small group discussions with grad school mentors to work on coding skills and to chat about graduate school life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
